Managing Mental Health in the Workplace

According to the Government’s Department of Health, one in four people will suffer with their Mental Health at some point in their lives with work being one of the main causes.

Did you know, one in five employees have taken time off work due to stress and 61% of workers say their mental health affects their productivity?

It's been a tough 12 months for everyone and your staff may be suffering from anxiety about heading back the office or be finding working at home for so long difficult and missing social interaction.

So in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week, here are some tips for them and you to maintain a healthy mind and workplace.

  • Have a good routine
  • Know what you do well and what interests you
  • Organise your day
  • Take time for yourself
  • Surround yourself with positive people
  • Understand no-one and nothing is perfect
  • Take breaks when you need them
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Keep active - physical activity is good for your head as well as your body   
  • Communicate - if you need help, please ask someone
