With Phase 2 of the way out of Lockdown approaching and businesses now opening or thinking about re-opening, you’re probably starting to think about about how you’re going to keep your employees and customers safe in the ‘New Norm’.

To help you, we’ve put together a list of the essential PPE you may need to help contain the spread of Coronavirus over the coming months.

Hand sanitiser

We all know that good hygiene is one of the best ways to minimise the spread of infections and this starts with our hands.

Soaps and hand washers are part of everyday life and we can provide you with both but, it’s also worth making sure you have a supply of hand sanitiser too. It’s quick and easy to apply, and reassuring for anyone that enters your premises, especially if there’s not a sink easily available. For maximum efficiency, your hand sanitiser should be at least 70% alcohol in order to kill all germs.  We have many bottles in many sizes in stock for you to choose from.

Face masks

While the Government hasn’t declared PPE face masks compulsary, it looks like it may become the case in some places, plus, your employees and customers may feel happier if you provide them. If you’re meeting people in the office a cloth mask should suffice but if you are in close contact with potentially infected people, you’ll need a type IIR mask which is 100% fluid transfer resistant to ensure you are safe. Always make sure you wear a CE certified mask to ensure maximum safety.

Disinfectant spray

Every office, shop, cafe or factory should be using disinfectant sprays in their premises, we do.  As we start to return to work, it’s going to be more important than ever to keep surfaces and screens clean. COVID19 can live on surfaces for up to 7 days. We recommend you pick a high strength solution so you can be sure it is capable of eliminating bugs and germs. We have a supply of high coverage disinfectant sprays that kills 99.9% of bacteria and meet BSEN 1276 & BSEN 1650 requirements. If you’re not sure which one to pick, we’re here to help.

Sneeze screens

Protective sneeze screens, whether fixed or freestanding make ideal solutions for keeping your customers and colleagues safe. Designed specifically to help create a shield between your existing working areas, customer areas and tills, these screens help you to adhere to the latest Social Distancing Guidelines and can be custom made for your space.  Ask as for more information.

Disposable gloves

If you work in an industry that requires regular contact with other people and have shared resources, such as hairdressing, catering or retail, disposable gloves are a must.

If you are wearing gloves you should make sure you keep a supply as you should put on a fresh pair after contact with any another person.

Face shields

Face shields don’t apply to every industry. However, they are important in environments where close human-contact can’t be avoided. Although they might seem a little clunky, some sources say they could be a better option for containing the spread of the virus than face masks.

Covid signage

Until customers and employees become accustom to the new ways of working and social distancing rules in your place of work, COVID signage is crucial.  Floor stickers for one way systems, social distancing signs, hand washing posters and sanitiser stands will provide re-assurance for those around you.

BMG can provide you with all your PPE essentials and source you any additional safety items you may need to help ensure your transition back to work is as safe and smooth as possible.

If you have any questions or queries, we’re always happy to help.

Stay safe.
