Winter Driving Safety Tips

Whether you are commuting to work, making deliveries or driving to see customers, being ready for winter is important.  We know, as we do all these things ourselves.

Winter weather conditions can change very quickly, especially here in Scotland, so making sure you are prepared is vital.

Here are the rules we follow:

Winter Driving Preparation:

• Regularly check your tyres and lights

• Makes sure phone is charged before you set off

• Keep a warm jacket and boots in your car

• Carry a water bottle for drinks of cleaning your window

   

What to Keep in Your Car as Part of Your Winter Travel Kit

• First aid kit

• Torch

• De-icer

• Ice scraper

• Blanket

• Shovel

• Phone charger

• Warm clothes

   

Tips for Driving During Winter Weather

• Check weather and road reports before travelling

• Wear warm and comfortable shoes

• Leave a safe distance from the vehicle in front

• Make sure you have plenty of fuel
